An alternative to wallpaper, or the classic painting, the "delabré" effect, literally "in a bad state", gives the walls an aged appearance.
Allows you to simulate the effect of passing time and that, by depositing the patina, reduces the original colors, brings back the previous layers of colors, giving unexpected nuances, or even causes the detachment of portions of paint, showing the rough plaster and, sometimes, the underlying masonry.

I like the sense of "not finitito " and "imperfect", who dresses the walls of charm and appeal and gives the value added of the time passing; Who cares if only virtually.
A sort of " trompe l'oeil", very old technique, known (and widely used), even in the rich houses of ancient Rome.

For a good result, only apparently easy to get, let us consider  not a simple painter but anyone who knows how to convey, through his sensitivity and with the trade tools, this "something more" on our walls.
